Welcome!

I am a post-doctoral researcher in the high-z quasar group of Dr. Eduardo Bañados at the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy (MPIA, Heidelberg).

My current research focuses on the discovery and multi-wavelength characterization (mainly optical, infrared, radio and X-ray) of high redshift (z>4) quasars, in particular radio-loud (those with powerful radio jets), and the study of the environment where they live in.

I obtained my PhD in Physics and Astronomy at the University of Insubria (Como, IT) in Spring 2021, by working at the Observatory of Brera (Milan, IT). My project was focused on the search of z>4 blazars. During my PhD I discovered the most distant blazar known to date (PSOJ0309+27, at z=6.1

After that, I worked as a postdoctoral researcher at University of Insubria for ~1 year, with a project focused both on research and on outreach and dissertation, in collaboration with the Observatory of Sormano (ASTRONETILO project).

I obtained my master degree at the University of Milano-Bicocca, with a thesis focused on the nuclear vs integrated spectroscopy of nearby galaxies.

As I am an observational astrophysicist I also use ground based telescopes all over the world to directly search for and characterise high-z quasars.
